Who we are and the scope of this policy

AutoIntel.News (“AutoIntel,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is an independently operated automotive news and industry-intelligence website based in Pennsylvania, United States. This policy applies when you visit autointel.news, use its public pages, or subscribe to AutoIntel.News email communications.

Links may take you to publishers, podcast services, social platforms or other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Information we handle

Information you provide

• Your email address when you request AutoIntel.News email updates.
• Any optional information you enter into a signup or contact form.
• Messages and information you voluntarily send when contacting us.

Information generated through site use

• Pages viewed, links or calls to action used, referring pages and approximate engagement time.
• Browser, device, operating-system and general technical information.
• Approximate geographic information derived from network information.
• Internet Protocol addresses and security logs processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Cookie or similar identifiers used by analytics services, subject to applicable consent requirements.

How we use information

We use information for limited operational purposes, including to:

• Provide, maintain, secure and troubleshoot AutoIntel.News.
• Understand aggregate readership, traffic sources and site performance.
• Measure whether requested email subscriptions are successfully confirmed.
• Deliver email briefings and other communications you have requested.
• Prevent duplicate event reporting, abuse, fraud and unauthorized access.
• Respond to questions, privacy requests and other communications.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our rights.

Analytics, cookies and similar technologies

AutoIntel.News uses Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how people discover and use the site. GA4 may process information such as page activity, device and browser details, referring information, approximate location and cookie or device identifiers. We use this information to evaluate site performance and audience engagement, not to identify readers by name.

AutoIntel.News does not currently use GA4 information for personalized advertising or remarketing. We do not send subscriber email addresses, names or MailerLite profile fields to GA4.

Depending on your location and browser, you may be presented with controls for non-essential analytics storage. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google provides additional information in its Privacy Policy and offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email subscriptions and MailerLite

AutoIntel.News uses MailerLite to collect and manage email subscriptions and to deliver requested communications. When you subscribe, MailerLite may process your email address, signup source, confirmation status, signup and confirmation timestamps, and technical information used to document consent and protect forms from abuse.

AutoIntel.News uses a double-opt-in process. Entering an email address starts the request; the subscription becomes active only after the confirmation link in the verification email is selected. You may unsubscribe at any time through the link included in our emails.

How confirmed signups are measured

When MailerLite marks a subscriber as active after confirmation, it may notify a secure AutoIntel.News endpoint operated using Cloudflare Workers. The endpoint verifies that the notification came from MailerLite and prevents the same confirmation from being counted repeatedly.

AutoIntel.News then sends GA4 a limited generate_lead event indicating that a signup was confirmed. The event contains restricted form and confirmation metadata plus a pseudonymous technical identifier. It does not contain the subscriber’s email address, name, MailerLite profile fields or subscriber Internet Protocol address. Advertising personalization is not requested for this event.

A limited deduplication record derived from non-email MailerLite account and subscriber identifiers may be stored by Cloudflare for up to 400 days. Its purpose is solely to prevent duplicate conversion events.

Service providers

We use service providers to perform narrowly defined functions. They process information according to their terms, privacy documentation and our configuration of their services.

When information is shared

We share information with the service providers described above only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, measure and communicate through AutoIntel.News. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of AutoIntel.News, our readers or others.

AutoIntel.News does not sell personal information. We do not share newsletter subscriber information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to maintain subscription preferences, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the service and maintain accurate aggregate reporting.

• Active subscription information is generally retained while you remain subscribed.
• Limited suppression or consent records may be retained after unsubscribe to respect your choice and document compliance.
• Analytics information is retained according to the settings of our GA4 property.
• Confirmed-signup deduplication records may be retained for up to 400 days.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls, secret storage, authenticated webhook messages and data minimization. No method of Internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information connected with you. You may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

We may need to verify your request before acting on it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant privacy or data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

International processing

AutoIntel.News and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live. Service providers are responsible for the safeguards described in their applicable terms and privacy documentation.

Children’s privacy

AutoIntel.News is an automotive industry publication intended for a professional and general adult audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when AutoIntel.News changes its services, providers or information practices, or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site or through another reasonable notice.
